We are a busy, progressive Vancouver Island CPA firm seeking full-time junior accounting technician to join our team.
Junior Accounting Staff
Responsibilities of this position will include:
- Preparation of Compilation engagement working paper files
- Preparation of personal income tax returns
- Hands-on experience with client files
- Financial statements preparation
- Preparation of corporate tax returns
- General accounting, payroll, GST/HST, WCB and other returns as required
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize workload demands and multiple tasks
- Good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication, technical and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
Preferences:
Attributes helpful for this position include:
- Knowledge of bookkeeping software suites such as Simply Accounting, Quickbooks or similar
- Accounting or bookkeeping courses
- Some experience in public accounting
- Knowledge with CaseWare, Microsoft Office and Intuit Profile (or similar) tax software
