Personal income tax filers:
The Canada Revenue Agency’s (CRA) original extension for the deadline for personal income tax from April 30, 2020 to June 1, 2020 remains intact. However, if you have income taxes owing, the deadline to pay the taxes has been extended to September 1, 2020.
Personal income tax filers with self-employment income:
The CRA has maintained the June 15, 2020 filing deadline but has extended the deadline to pay any taxes owing to September 1, 2020
Corporate income tax filers:
For Corporations with filing deadlines between March 18, 2020 and June 1, 2020, those deadlines are extended to June 1, 2020. For Corporations with a filing deadline in June, July or August, those deadlines are extended to September 1, 2020. Any balances owing or installments due between March 18, 2020 and September 1, 2020 are now due September 1, 2020
Trust filers:
Any trusts with a December 31, 2019 year end have had their filing deadline extended to May 1, 2020. Trusts with filing deadlines between March 18, 2020 and September 1, 2020 have had their deadline extended to September 1, 2020
